Dr. Carlen Padmore-Gateau is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) who empowers individuals to reach their full potential. She guides leaders on transformative journeys to achieve clarity, growth, and impactful outcomes.
With 30 years of experience in the NYC Public Schools, Dr. Padmore-Gateau brings practical insight and strategic vision to her coaching practice. She has served in the following capacities: classroom teacher, Principal, and Director of Equity, along with spearheading initiatives like NYU’s Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality (TAC-D) and My Brother's Keeper (MBK).
As a highly sought-after coach, Carlen collaborates with school leaders and teachers by building their capacity through insightful classroom visits and workshops. She also expertly facilitates group coaching sessions, fostering collaborative growth and development. She also currently drives instructional excellence as a District Achievement and Instructional Specialist.
Carlen’s extensive educational journey culminated in a doctorate from Russell Sage College. Her doctoral research focused on "School Leaders’ and Teachers’ Perceptions about Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Its Implications for Elementary Black Male Students with IEPs," highlighting her commitment to equitable and effective leadership.
